Salt Lake area air conditioning reps slammed with work Published on June 20, 2017 Video Transcript Reporters: Air conditioning repair techs have been slammed with work. And Christina Flores live with that story for us tonight. Christina when the temperature goes up, so do the service calls and you’ve been with some guys that do it 24/7. Christina: Yes, that’s right. This company here in Midvale does take round the clock and they’ve had plenty of those. It appears that most people have been waiting until now to make sure their air conditioning works. Ken Best: Most of our guys have been working somewhere between 50 and 60 hours a week. Christina: Ken Best and his crew at Service Experts have been repairing AC units non-stop. Ken Best: We’ve gotten call already, you know, 10, 11:30 at night Christina: Right now his priority is doing repairs for seniors and people with health issues – like Dave Vigos who just got out of the hospital. Dave Vigos: I function better breathing at a more comfortable temperature than 100 degrees. Christina: Best says that because it was cold in May, many people did not service their AC units until now. Ken Best: Bam. Now it’s 90 degrees. So now people are panicking because they didn’t have the time to get maintenance done and now they’re rushing it. Christina: Best says if you want to avoid an AC meltdown, have it checked and tuned before you notice problems. Voice: You should be nice and comfy after they get it fixed. Dave Vigos: I’m looking forward to it. Christina: So Ken, the technician that we hung out with today says many people think that right now that because it’s so hot their AC isn’t working. Most of the time is just needs a little fix and of course, the one easy thing you can do to make sure it works and that the air is flowing is change that filter. Mark back to you. Mark: Alright, Christina. Thanks.
