Winterize Your World Wednesday: Let's Get Heartwarming Published on February 09, 2016 Punxsutawney Phil has forecasted an early spring – and, for that, we are very thankful! Honestly, Phil, thanks a lot! But despite what the weather is like outside – whether your furnace needs a tune-up because your system is working overtime, or you’ve already turned on the air conditioning a few afternoons – Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly, and there are friends and family that you’d like to recognize with something a little special. But just because it’s special doesn’t mean it has to be expensive! Our friends bloggers Ashley and Jamin Mills at The Handmade Home have rounded up 14 free printable Valentine’s, plus a a handful of low-cost and no-cost gifts to accompany them. (Picture color-spiraled hearts made from melting leftover crayons.) You can steal their recommendations here. (They’re okay with it!) We are excited because one of their most delicious ideas is this recipe for stunning stained glass heart cookies. They are wonderful to slip into the little ones’ lunch boxes, to share with the friends after school, to take to a social gathering, or as a present for someone of any age – anyone who holds a special place in your heart! You just need eight easy ingredients that you probably already have at home, plus two heart-shaped cookie cutters (one smaller than the other). The secret ingredient is red or pink Jolly Ranchers, crushed into little pieces. But these unique treats won’t take any more time to make than any regular, decorated sugar cookie.See the recipe and step-by-step instructions here. Happy Valentine’s Day, and thank you for being part of the Service Experts family!
