What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most usual A/C problems in Salt Lake City.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can check these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling issues. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be all set. Note that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
