Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry Published on August 20, 2016 The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to give more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano. “Last September, I had the ability to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are an essential part of this community.” Minnie’s Food Pantry was started by Cheryl Jackson as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to use the food they get to cook nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume aid along with money-management and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet. Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month. “Each member of the team was so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even showed our group their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
