Happy Birthday to the Leaplings Published on February 28, 2016 2016 is a notable year. We will see the presidency of our first African-American president conclude. The United States will choose a new Leader of the Free World. We may have even seen Peyton Manning’s final game. The most joyous part? The “Leaplings” get to celebrate their birthday on the actual day! Hurray! That special day that only happens every four years – February 29th – has returned to give Leap Year babies a true celebration. In honor of this rare day, here are a few exceptional people who share this particular birthday: Alex Rocco Alessandro Federico Petricone, Jr., likely known to you as Alex Rocco, portrayed Moe Green in the 1972 movie The Godfather. Additional movies you may know him from are The Wedding Planner and That Thing You Do! Pope Paul III Pope Paul III, born Alessandro Farnese, was the last of the Renaissance popes and the initial pope of the Counter-Reformation. He cherished artwork and even gave the order to Michelangelo to paint the Last Judgment for the Sistine Chapel. Adolph Blaine Charles David Earl Frederick Gerald Hubert Irvin John Kenneth Lloyd Martin Nero Oliver Paul Quincy Randolph Sherman Thomas Uncas Victor William Xerxes Yancey Zeus Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenberdorft, Sr. Get all that? Did you observe that there are 26 names making the alphabet as initials? Did you also see that it ends with “Senior?” Yes, this dear old dad gave the same daunting name to his son, who, rumor has it, learned how to pronounce his complete name by the mere age of three. Also, there is some disagreement on the spelling (and length) of the last name. One source documented it as Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorffwelchevoralternwarengewissenhaftschaferswessenschafewarenwohlgepflegeundsorgfaltigkeitbeschutzenvorangreifendurchihrraubgierigfeindewelchevoralternzwolfhunderttausendjahresvorandieerscheinenvonderersteerdemenschderraumschiffgenachtmittungsteinundsiebeniridiumelektrischmotorsgebrauchlichtalsseinursprungvonkraftgestartseinlangefahrthinzwischensternartigraumaufdersuchennachbarschaftdersternwelchegehabtbewohnbarplanetenkreisedrehensichundwohinderneuerassevonverstandigmenschlichkeitkonntefortpflanzenundsicherfreuenanlebenslanglichfreudeundruhemitnichteinfurchtvorangreifenvorandererintelligentgeschopfsvonhinzwischensternartigraum. Honestly, we can’t make this up. The Henriksen Siblings Crazy, right? Not just one, not just two, but three siblings were born on consecutive Leap Days in 1960 (Heidi), 1964 (Olav), and 1968 (Leif-Martin). Could you deal with having to share your birthday, let alone with two siblings? Sorry ‘boutcha Henriksens. Peter Scanavino If you can’t recognize Peter Scanavino then you have an obligation to turn on USA and catch yourself a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit marathon. It’ll change your life and you’ll get to meet Dominick ‘Sonny’ Carisi, Jr., played by Leapling Peter Scanavino. Sometimes you can even catch him on the Chicago P.D. crossovers, another show you should probably check out. So this year, Leaplings, don’t trouble yourself with whether you should celebrate your big day on February 28th or March 1st, celebrate on your actual birthday. And, Happy Birthday from your friends at Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning!
